2010 Volunteers

Each year, hundreds of volunteers make the Amigo Airsho happen! It is an impressive story - an event of this magnitude created, planned and executed by a volunteer organization - under the guiding force of only one or two staff members! The Amigo Airsho offers you the opportunity to have fun, meet lots of people, present an incredible event for El Paso and to help raise money for local charities.

All volunteers belong to the "Amigo Airsho Volunteer Corps". This organization of volunteers, formed in 1992, continues to build and encourage participation and commitment within the organization. Each volunteer is asked to pay $10 annual dues to the Volunteer Corps. As a paid member of the CORPS, each volunteer receives: Event newsletters, 2 fun-filled volunteer meetings/social hour, Volunteer T-shirt, a meal and beverages on the days of your shift, an event souvenir pin, tickets to the Hangar Party (Friday night), Crew Bash (Saturday night), Survivor Party (Sunday night) and the Thank You Party.

The level and scope of each volunteer is different - depending on the interests and amount of time and/or resources that one is willing and able to give. Volunteer positions range from working a shift at the entrance gates, to helping host the corporate chalet owners, to revenue control, to hospitality, to being a Chairperson, to be a Board of Directors member. A listing of specific areas needing volunteers will be provided in future updates on this web site. In the meantime, call us and let us know about your interests! All volunteers are asked to contribute a minimum of eight (8) hours. Be assured that the return on your investment is at least ten-fold. The minimum age for an unsupervised volunteer is 14 years of age. Individuals under this age will require special approval by the appropriate Committee Chairperson.
